Born in 1985, Will Teran works with a wide range of media, primarily focusing on painting and drawing. He received his B.A. from Adelphi University in 2007 and has continued to further his professional development. Acutely aware of how all aspects of the creative process (formal, technical, and conceptual decisions) have an effect on how the image or object has an effect on the viewer catalyzes Teran to largely concentrate upon the process; the spontaneous, subconscious, and automatic act of mark making. In his paintings, a raw personal speech is the center of attention, delivered by a wild abstraction of color fields and cryptic iconography. The Neo-Expressionist movement in conjunction with the raw aesthetic of the street art of the 1980s inspires much of his vision.
